You're Invited

Last night, Conan O'Brien said farewell after being ousted after 7 months hosting the Tonight Show. His parting words redefined class, and I thought the sentiment below was particularly notable. As someone who often throws a pity party for one (attire: hungover yoga mom; food: byoyac*), I really took notice of his optimism and positivity, two attitudes diametrically opposed, it seems, to my own day-to-day worldview.

"Please do not be cynical. I hate cynicism. For the record, it's my least favorite quality. It doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get, but if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen. I'm telling you, amazing things will happen."
